HOW TO PREPARE A SPEECH FOR ANY OCCASION

(Even Though You’re Scared to Death)

Fear of public speaking is one of the most common American phobias, but you can use that fear to motivate thorough preparation.  I will give you confidence by guiding you through the process of writing and delivering a speech for any social or business event.

Whether your goal is to be funny, poignant, inspiring, or a combination of all three, we will work together to turn your personal experiences into a successful talk.

In addition to the text, we will also explore some simple vocal, breathing, and relaxation techniques to enhance your delivery and combat your nerves.

We will go over some basic dos and don’ts that apply to all public speaking occasions, and then I will apply my years of practical experience to your particular situation.

Take a look at this VIDEO for a few sample tips.

I lead group workshops, or give one-on-one private coaching – which can also be conducted by phone or Skype.

I have performed and lectured on three continents, and have been in The NY Times, LA Times, OPRAH, and NPR’s Morning Edition.  The New York Magazine WEDDINGS issue Summer 2010 quoted my advice on preparing a toast.  “Don’t use quotes from Shakespeare.  Everyone will know you looked it up in a book.  Jokes are also verboten.
